The issues she focuses on are domestic and sexual violence, bullying, substance abuse, hunger and homelessness. Pressley authored a resolution urging the Legislature to extend equal rights and protections to transgender individuals. She serves Boston Police Department’s Diversity Panel. She raises awareness about human trafficking. Pressley has been a visionary when it comes to advocating for practical sexual education in public schools; takes seriously the high suicide attempt rate among LGBTQ youth and advocates for early intervention and understands the challenges facing LGBT seniors.
