Bay Windows

"Prediction of a low-turnout means LGBT advocates need your vote...In this tight race, Pressley has earned your vote and we ask you to consider her first.

In this tight race, Pressley has earned your vote and we ask you to consider her first. She is the first woman of color to be elected to the council in its 101-year history. The issues she focuses on are domestic and sexual violence, bullying, substance abuse, hunger and homelessness. Pressley authored a resolution urging the Legislature to extend equal rights and protections to transgender individuals. She serves Boston Police Department’s Diversity Panel. She raises awareness about human trafficking. Pressley has been a visionary when it comes to advocating for practical sexual education in public schools; takes seriously the high suicide attempt rate among LGBTQ youth and advocates for early intervention and understands the challenges facing LGBT seniors. She refuses to march in the South Boston St. Patrick’s Day Parade due to its exclusion of LGBT groups. Endorsed by DotOUT. Ayanna Pressley brings a voice to many of the difficult issues affecting our most vulnerable citizens and our society."
